I'm not 100% sure what you mean by root access. When I use my FTP program, the first "entry point" to the server is shown as "/" in the address field. Is this then the root area?

has anyone already installed OpenEMM on a 1and1 (German) server? I have problems with PHPLIST and want to try OpenEMM.

Please tell me your experience with 1and1.
