how to configure the SMTP server

Hi,

I have installed OpenEMM on Windows XP.

How do I configure the SMTP server settings?


Pls help.

The SMTP server on Windows runs out of the box without separate configuration (just ensure that there is a valid domain in MAILLOOP_DOMAIN in the COMPANY_TBL which can be set during installation or by starting config.bat.)

Is the domain something like mail.domain.com or smtp.domain.com?

This is typically the domain you own and use as the sender domain.

Let say I have domain www.mybizcentre.com so I should put this value in the Mailloop value?

If you own the domain mybizcentre.com, this domain should be used (without the www). If you prefer to send your mail from another subdomain (e.g. newsletter.mybizcentre.com), then use this domain.

I have the value mybizcentre.com in the MAILLOOP value but I didn't get any email.

The system shows the following:

Generated E-Mails: 3
Sent E-Mails: 3
Total E-Mails: 3

but no email is received.

This system is installed on my PC running windows xp, any problem with this setup?

Please consult the logfiles in \OpenEMM\var\log, here the content of the *-semu.log (for the date the problem occurs) should bring some light into darkness. You can just post it here (if it is not too large, please).
