Hi,
i have made a registration Form with openemm.
After registration the User gets a double opt-in Mail with a hyperlink to the Double Opt In Page.
Everything is working fine but:
If you use a gmail adresse the DOI is done automatically by google f.e. this IP:
rate-limited-proxy-66-249-92-25.google.com
It seems that google opens the site (maybe to scan)
Is this a known issue?
kind regards, NIls

Re: Gmail automatically register Double Opt IN
Yes, this sounds like Google’s link-scanning behavior. Gmail may follow links in incoming messages to check them for security, which can trigger the Double Opt-In URL before the recipient actually clicks it.
One possible approach is to make the DOI action less dependent on a simple GET request, or require an additional confirmation step before marking the address as confirmed. It would also be worth checking the request headers and user agent to distinguish automated scanners from genuine clicks.
