Unsubscribe / Target Groups

Post by TomStage »

Hi All

First off, nice job on OpenEMM guys :D

I have a question about unsubscribing.

Is it possible to have the unsubscribing to change a field in a target group instead of the mailing list?

1st. We have our target groups configure with some fields we set to true and false and use those as the primay selecting of who should have the email, but as far as i can see we can only do the unsubsribing on a mailing list, what happens when we send the next mailing out will the mailing list be owerlooked or ?

2nd. If i can do the unsubscribing on the target group do i need to have unsubscribing for each target group / mailing list, or do OpenEMM keep track on the mailing id that is being unsubscribed from, and therfore can use this to determine what group that is connected to this mailing and change that / these target groups?

Or would it be an idea to have the mailing list and target group merge into one so you only have mailing list but with the options availble from the target groups, and use thos explicit.

The reason i am asking this is that we come from another mailing service where we are use to do it with a selecting criteria define in the mailing lists.

Or do i have to restructure "all" my recipients? and only work with mailing lists?

Cheers

You can use a profile modification link instead of an unsubscribe link and use the form which is called by the profile link to set a (hidden) profile field to a desired state.

Hi Ma

Thanks for your quick reply, ok that means for me that i have to have an unsubscribe for each of our target groups since we use more than one field to determine who should get what.
