Editing profile data without email link

Hi,

I'm quite new to OpenEMM so please excuse me if I overread something or this question is rather stupid.
As far as I understand, for security reasons a subscriber can only access his profile by clicking on a link generated by OpenEMM.
As I want to give the customer the chance to update his profile (e.g. changing his special interests) at any time I'm now wondering if there's a best practice for that. Might this be possible with OpenEMM directly or do I have to wrap this with my own password protected "application"?
Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
