Cannot edit some recipients

I have had this problem in both the current and prior versions of OpenEMM. There are some recipients in my mailing lists that I am able to successfully edit, and there are others that I cannot. The most recent example is of a customer who changed their email address. I searched for the address, found it, made the change in the Edit Recipient screen, and clicked Save. The customer is set up as a Normal, Active status recipient in a valid Mailing list. The changed email address does not save to the customer record. I then performed the exact same steps on a a different recipient, this time a test account, and the change was saved.
Is there a value or a status in a certain field in the Recipient record that is preventing me from saving for some customers but not for others?
