Criteria required for successful install in webhosted space?

Dear all,
Though the official OpenEMM document state that we need root access to install OpenEMM, but is it possible to re-package OpenEMM so that it can be installed in a hosted environment?
As I know, we can still run scheduled shell commands through the "Cron job commands" of cpanel, webmin,..., etc in a hosted environment.
What additional resources are required for successful installation of OpenEMM in a web-hosted environment?
I can see that "Resin 3 Servlet Engine" maybe a problem, but it has been included in the OpenEMM installation package....?
Welcome any comments!
If someone has successfully installed OpenEMM in a hosted environment, would you mind sharing your experience?
Thanks!
