A few simple capability questions

Post by marketguy »

Hi, I'm planning to use drip marketing for my software company and am evaluating OpenEMM. Had a few quick questions:

1) Are there web services or external commands (scriptable CLI) that allow me to add a new recipient to the database and send the first email automatically when someone registers on my website? I notice the real web services API isn't due until the next version.

2a) Is there a way to test profile fields and make automated action decisions (e.g. send specific emails, change profile values) based on their values within EMM? I didn't see a way in the docs. If not, is there a way to perform the tests outside EMM and then feed the results back into EMM?

2b) If I can make automated decisions, is email open status (e.g. opened/clicked/bounced) available to these decisions? For example, can I automatically send specific emails based on whether the recipient opened or clicked on the last email, or do I have to manage that myself through profile values?

3) Is there a way for me to automatically export recipient information to a CRM system (e.g. Salesforce)? Can I do it on specific recipients when a profile field meets a certain value? The CRM has an import API.

4) Can I perform simple string functions on profile fields automatically (e.g. concatenate the latest email name onto a text string)? All I saw in the docs is increment/decrement for numerical fields and set value to a fixed value.

Thank you!!!

Andrew
