Sendmail an OpenEMM - Delay to long

I am using OpenEMM 5.5.1 with a Virtual Linux Server.
First problem is, that sendmail has a delay (delay / xdelay?) of one hour, where it tries to reach server that do not respond. I want to minimize this to 5 Minutes, but it seems, that OpenEMM has its own configuration files for sendmail.
Where can I change the settings for the delay?

Second Problem is, that I have teached sendmail on my server to send mails in bulk, not one after the other. OpenEMM ignores that configuration and is still sending emails one by one. Where can I change that?
