No Emails Being Sent From VMware OpenEMM

I have the VMware version of OpenEMM installed and messages aren't being delivered. I've looked at logs, have tried sending emails manually thru the terminal using the sendmail command also without success.
I'm wondering what I should do to fix this.

It is working now. I moved the image to a faster server and now I have a flood of email!

I also am using OpenEmm version 5.5.1 on VMware. I can not send any mail at all. In the log file maillog:
Dec 5 09:49:30 mailservice sendmail[2223]: unable to write pid to /home/openemm/var/run/sendmail-openemm-queue.pid: Permission denied
Dec 5 10:35:36 mailservice sendmail[2462]: mB59I21L002462: from=root, size=1, class=0, nrcpts=1, relay=root@localhost
I'am not a linux guru so help wil be appreciated.
