Error gatherq: queuename too long, 21 max characters

Hi all,
I have a problem sending Admin and Test emails.

The error in /var/log/maillog is:

gatherq: qf3031d7Tf56300000001 too long, 21 max characters

I found the queue file qf3031d7Tf56300000001 in the folder /home/openemm/var/spool/ADMIN0 and its length is 21 characters.

How can I solve this problem?

If I delete the queue file and restart the server, the problem disappears for some days and then it happens again.

Which MTA do you use?

Hi Martin, I use sendmail 8.15.2, because with Postfix and smarthost the system didn't process delivery reports and bounces.

Good catch! Looks like CentOS8 allows bigger process IDs than CentOS7 which can lead to too long file names for admin and test mails if you have very high process IDs. We will fix that.
