Send emails based on date and/or weekday in automation

I'm currently evaluating whether we can use OpenEMM in our climate action project to send out an automated e-mail series every Friday. I would have to be able to schedule e-mails based on the current date and/or weekday. At the moment I can't find a way to do so. Am I missing something?
