a message that says error registering for newsletter

Hi everybody.

I'm using OpenEMM forms for registration to my mailinglist. I love it! I'm using two methods for people subscribing to my mailinglist. Both options are with the double opt in method.

The first is on a regular "subscribe to our newsletter" page. The second is a variation on this and is a downloadpage where people can get a free high quality audiotrack if they leave there email and in return they get signed up to the mailinglist.

Thing is, this (downloadpage) seems to work for a lot of people, but I'm also getting comments back that people get an error. All at the same point.

Situation:
People fill in the form on the page. >> click confirm >> they receive an email >> they click link in mail which brings them to the final page.

Most people land on the page and are shown a download link.
Some however get the error that says "error registering for newsletter". This is step 3 from 3 in the registrationproces. I've collected feedback and there doesn't seem to be a connection between browser or OS. I´ve also check if it has something to do with being already in the mailinglist...that is not the case.

I've looked in to it with someone else and he also doesn't know what is going on. So my hope was I could get some answers on this forum.

Any help or suggestion is very much appreciated.
