How to prevent embedded external links conversion?

When I create a CM content module with embedded, external, links in them - they get converted to an OpenEMM server modified format. The external content, however, does not exist on the OpenEMM server. How can I prevent these embedded external links from being converted (how can I preserve embedded links "as is") ?

In tab "trackable links" you can define whether a link in a mailing is trackable or not. Default value is "trackable".

So - "untrackable" implies that an embedded link marked as such will be "left alone" ("as is")?
