java bug in Mail Preview Function

Post by Arne1973 »

We are using openemm for years but now have the first time problems which our IT crack can't solve on his own.

However, unfortunately, after we want to have a look at the contents with the preview function a new window apears with the complete openemm contents and a red "Dyn Tay!" fault and no more the preview of the mailing.

We have tried to identify the fault, till now unsuccessful by having selected other styles, mailing lists and also receivers, unfortunately. Does anybody have an idea?

We find out that our problem is a matter of the profiles/Mailing List we are using. I appears only in the big mailing list (10 k profiles). Any idea?

We know of users with up to 800,000 addresses in one maillist. The size should not be the problem. We can not reproduce your problem and we have no idea where the problem originates.

I cant see details on your screenshot but I think I got the same problem yesterday
http://www.openemm.org/forums/ftopic1070.html

and i spent some time to find the error.

in my case it was an error caused by a whitespace:

Code: Select all

[agnDYN name="Text "/]
correct:

Code: Select all

[agnDYN name="Text"/]
So I think there is something wrong in your template instead of an internal openemm-error.

And I also think that problems with your profiles would not result in an "Dyn-Tag"-error

Thats possible if do not always use all you DynTags.
Maybe you left out a DynTag last time which you need for the current mailing?

I tried again to find out where the problem starts. And now I am shure that there is a probelm with the using of the mailing list. We got old profiles which were selected for a mailing list month ago. With this user we got a preview. - I tried it with a couple of templates even this one without any AgnTags - but after changing the status of the profile according the selection on the mailing list the preview stops working.

We made the update to Version 5.5.1 a month ago.

Ok, than it's difficult to find the problem.

Maybe an encoding-problem or a
"
in a name or an email-adress that causes an unexpected closing of a dyntag ...

Is the server a dedicated one, for openemm only or a shared one that maybe has ressource-bottlenecks (beside I dont believe that this is the problem here)?
