host.openemm.org goes down, ALL Openemm installations fail?

Hi,

Today I could not access my Openemm installations (main page timed out for
several minutes).

Doing a (netstat -an | grep ESTABLISHED) I noticed both my servers were
connecting to port 80 on 178.77.74.95, which resolves to (host.openemm.org),
but that host was unresponsive. Main site http://www.openemm.org was also down.

After several minutes, my servers stopped trying to connnect to host.openemm.org
and I could access them immediately afterwards.

My question:

If host.openemm.org goes down for any reason, will ALL external
OpenEMM installations in the World fail due to this behaviour? Or is there something
wrong with my servers?

The login page of OpenEMM tries to connect to openemm.org to see if an update is available. In this case a hint in the login screen will be shown.

If openemm.org is not available this should not stop OpenEMM from working at all.
